STATEMENT OF FAITH
Baptist Faith and Message 2000

We hold to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (BF&M) as our statement of faith.

Here is a link to view the BF&M, and we have printed copies available at the church building if you would like one.

COVENANT
At Ira Baptist Church, we have a covenant that we read a portion of every Sunday. This covenant is our commitment to one another.

Ira Baptist Church's Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord, Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious aide and in His Holy presence, enter into a covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We will walk together in Christian love;

We will strive for the growth of this church in knowledge, holiness, and unity;

We will promote its health;

We will sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines;

We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We will maintain family and personal devotions;

We will educate our children in the gospel;

We will seek to diligently and joyfully share the gospel with our family and neighbors;

We will be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of God.

We will walk circumspectly in the world; be just in our dealings, faithful in our attendance, model the gospel in our behavior and conduct;

We will not cause one another to stumble or be tempted to sin;

We will avoid all gossip, slander, and excessive anger;

We will abstain from the sale of, and use of destructive drugs;

We will not be controlled by intoxicating drinks;

We will shun pornography and encourage and pursue godly marriages;

We will watch over one another in brotherly love;

We will remember one another in prayer;

We will aid one another in sickness and distress;

We will cultivate Christian sympathy, compassion, and courtesy in our relationships with one another;

We will be slow to take offense, and always ready to seek reconciliation with one another.

If we leave this church, we will seek to join another evangelical, gospel-centered church as soon as possible.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
